The Counting Room, a new bi-level bar focusing on cocktails and small plates, opened three weeks ago on North 11th and Berry. It looks like a great spot when the windows are open in the nice weather. Check out the menu here and early reviews here. 44 Berry St., 718-599-1860. (via Eater)

On Monday, the charity the Ubuntu Education Fund is throwing a huge party fundraiser at Brooklyn Bowl called Rock the Bowl. $100 tickets get you access to a line up of DJs and live acts, performances by the casts of Lion King and Fela!, open bar, and all you can eat fried chicken and oysters.

According to Eater, Pinkerton Wine Bar has opened on North 6th and Havemeyer in the space that once housed the underwhelming but affordable N.6. Right now they’re just serving wine and beer but hope to serve small plates in the future. 263 North 6th St. 718-782-7171.

St. Anselm, the new restaurant from the owners of Spuyten Duyvil and Fette Sau looks close to opening. The exterior looks good to go and a peek inside (above) reveals furniture is already in. The restaurant will have “a mix of high-brow, low-brow stuff,” including Jersey diner-inspired fare such as hot dogs, homemade sausages, White Manna-style burgers (again with the White Manna), disco fries, and pork roll, AKA Taylor ham.
